ABETTING THEIR BEHAVIOUR WON'T HELP DRUG ADDICTS

Wake up, fellow Canadians. Risk reduction is not the answer to drug abuse.
The needle exchange program is a proven failure. It resulted only in more
needles littered in playgrounds and alleys. The people who run the program
also run a risk of being sued by the people they serve for causing harm.

The so-called safe injection site program would make things worse in the
long run. It serves to mask the symptoms and not treating the cause of the
problem. Treatment (voluntary or involuntary) and rehabilitation are the
only answers. People addicted to drugs lose control of their lives, harming
themselves and the community. They need detoxification and help with job
training and housing. It would be expensive, but the money saved on health
care, crimes and property damage would more than offset the costs.

With no demand for drugs, the supply would be diminished. That's simple
economics.
