TOO EASY FOR THESE DOPES
IT IS marvellous how laws are conceived. Police say it would be impossible
to enforce a proposed curfew for children at night due to lack of police
officers. On the other hand, a recent survey of our politicians found the
majority had tried or experimented with marijuana (Dope haze on the Hill,
19/4).
It was, therefore, suggested that this is a good reason to decriminalise
the use of marijuana. It was also just too hard for our police to
enforce. I suppose among those seven to 14-year-old children running amok
in Northbridge or in our suburbs and perhaps smoking some funny weed is a
potential premier.
I propose that car rage, excessive speed and dangerous driving offences be
removed as traffic laws because we don't have the police to enforce the
laws of our road. In a decade or so, when we realise that we need 1000
more police on our roads, we can bring back the road rules. In the
meantime no one is committing offences.
Hey, this is easy.
