POLICE DEPARTMENT WORKER ARRESTED

An employee of the Prince George's County Police Department was arrested on
drug possession charges, police said Thursday.

Tekisha Smith, a civilian employee of the police department, was charged
with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute
marijuana.

Police said officers responded Monday to reports of shots being fired in
the 7700 block of Michelle Drive in Landover.

Upon arrival, officers allegedly discovered Smith and Alonzo Stanley seated
in a vehicle that contained a quantity of suspected marijuana, police said.

Stanley also was charges of marijuana possession and intent to distribute,
plus charges of with possession of PCP and second-degree assault, police
said. He was placed under a $30,000 bond.

Smith was released on a personal recognizance bond. She has been placed on
administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of an internal
investigation.
