MEDICAL MARIJUANA: TWO VIEWS

The voters of California passed a law that says if you have a terminal
illness and your doctor thinks that medicinal marijuana will relieve some
of the pain, then marijuana can be prescribed for you. And yet even when
this marijuana is provided to these patients in accordance with that law,
the federal government is still going to arrest you. That doesn't sound
like compassionate conservatism to me.

I have watched a person die from brain cancer. I cannot imagine someone
seeing a loved one go through this and not want to do whatever he or she
could to help him or her. I think the government needs to leave medical
decisions to people's doctors.
