DOPE DEALERS DESERVE PRISON

Re: "Crack dealer, 78, gets house arrest," April 16. Lee Circuit Judge
William J. Nelson gave Lillian Dillard of Fort Myers a three-year suspended
prison sentence and ordered her to serve two years of house arrest because
"prison would be tantamount to a death sentence" because of her age and health.

Questions for Judge Nelson: "This is the last time I'm willing to do this,"
you said to the woman. "I can't do it anymore. You keep telling me you're
not going to do this stuff and then you go out and do it again." How many
times has she appeared before you?

What would you tell all those children who have been fed these drugs thanks
to Lillian Dillard? Was this not a death sentence for them or at the very
least a life of misery?

Let's hope the state attorney's office has more sense than you do in regard
to dope dealers and appeals your decision.
