GROW HEMP FOR OIL

Dan Ruth from Park City brought up the benefits of biodiesel (Forum, May
2). I would like to add to his list the most superior biodiesel: hemp oil.
Hemp oil could fulfill all our energy needs, could be grown in all 50
states and we would not have to go around bombing other countries to
protect our oil interests.

I have been trying to find one good reason why we are not growing hemp, but
no one has been able to answer me on that. The best I've been able to come
up with is that it looks like marijuana, but I consider that a weak attempt
at a logical reason.

I guess the real reasons are we love war, breathing polluted air and
corporate greed.
