MARIJUANA: DEMONIZED INGREDIENT USEFUL
Dear Editor,
Thanks for publishing Harry Fisher's outstanding letter [Better deemed
worse, April 29 Letters to the Editor, Langley Advance News].
Mr. Fisher excellently points out the fraudulent accusations of Frank G.
Sterle, Jr., connecting cannabis to schizophrenia [Harmless assumptions
legitimized, April 25 Letters, Advance News].
If cannabis is so dangerous, why did the U.S. federal Food and Drug
Administration approve Delta-9-THC, the active and most demonized
ingredient in marijuana, as Marinol in 1986?
Why did the DEA reschedule Marinol in 1999 from a schedule 1 to schedule 3
(a safe and medically accepted pharmaceutical)?
In my thirty-five years of using cannabis I have only had one problem:
dealing with fear-mongering individuals like Mr. Sterle who feed fear with
their inaccurate dishonesty.
