PROSECUTORS DROP 1 CHARGE AGAINST ACTOR

NEW SMYRNA BEACH - A disorderly intoxication charge against actor
David Faustino was dropped, but the man who played Bud Bundy on the TV
series "Married with Children" still faces a drug charge, prosecutors
said Wednesday.

The charge was dropped Tuesday because Faustino's arrest May 12 was
sufficient punishment for the charge, said a spokeswoman at the state
attorney's office.

Faustino still faces a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession,
punishable up to a year in prison. He has pleaded not guilty. Trial is
set for July.

"It's not the biggest charge in the world," said Faustino's attorney,
Michael Rodriguez.

Police spotted Faustino, 33, and his wife Andrea, 31, at an
intersection late the night of May 11. Faustino tried to climb out the
car window, then opened the door, police said.

The actor tried to walk away when police confronted the couple, police
reports said. An officer smelled alcohol on Faustino's breath and
found a plastic bag with a gram of marijuana in his pocket, police
said.

Faustino filed for divorce from his wife in February, citing
irreconcilable differences.
