have two teenage boys 15 and 16. I would never consider doing that to
them. Why, you ask?

There are two things we have in our household: communication and
trust. Children, especially teenagers, generally react very negatively
to threats. By using the method you prescribe, you could be setting
yourself up for a big rebellion.
