ASSAILANTS KILL FAMILY OF SIX DRIVING IN MEXICO
ACAPULCO, Mexico - Assailants armed with Kalashnikov rifles shot dead a
family of six, including three children, and injured another three family
members as they drove down a road in Mexico's Pacific state of Guerrero on
Sunday, officials said.
The family was heading to their home in Mexico City after going to a party
in the municipality of Iguala, about 250km (155 miles) south of the
capital, said Eduardo Murueta, Guerrero's attorney general.
Murueta said the attack may have been because of a personal dispute or
could have been connected to drug trafficking.
Drug-related violence has killed more than 1,000 people across Mexico this
year.
The three injured family members were taken to a hospital in Iguala where
they were in stable condition, Murueta said.
