WE CAUSE NO HARM

Editor, The Star:

Re: Supreme Court Must Order Canadian Parliament To Liberalize.

David Malmo-Levine speaks to the Supreme Court of Canada, arguing that
section 420 is unconstitutional. It infringes on our right to choose the
flowers in our herb gardens, and to naturally medicate for cancer pain,
wasting syndrome, MS, HIV, and other terminal chronic illnesses of modern
American life, with B.C.'s best home grown marijuana buds.

Canada's Liberal Prime Minister Jean Chretien is the first PM in history to
state, just last week, that, "No Canadian resident should have a criminal
record for the possession of marijuana." This fulfills a promise he made to
Canadians to get elected over 30 years ago. On Saturday, May 3 David
Malmo-Levine went on to say, "Get real. It is just a flower. No U.S. war on
flowers. It does no harm. It heals."

Mark Emery, President of the Marijuana Party of BC, went on to remind us
that Prime Ministers Pierre Trudeau and Kim Campbell smoked pot. Premiers
Glen Clark and Ralph Klein smoked pot. Our best musicians, authors and most
creative scientists smoke pot. Jesus Christ himself wore hemp clothing and
anointed himself and healed others with holy oils, containing large
quantities (1/6 of the active ingredients. See Exodus 30:22-30) of sweet or
fragrant canebus.

Smoking pot is cool. It has always been cool. It always will be cool.
Prohibition by the state and police action causes violent harm. We are not
violent. We cause no harm. End the persection.

It is time Canadian parliament demonstrates her independence of US foreign
and state control to profit from ill health of our citizens. Uphold the
will of six of seven Canadians who want pot flower decriminalized.
