PM PASSES PUFF TEST
ATHENS -- It's official: Jean Chretien never inhaled. The revelation came
during a news conference following meetings in Athens with European Union
leaders.
When a reporter asked the PM if he would allow a free vote in the Commons on
proposed legislation to decriminalize small amounts of grass for personal
use, Chretien said, "We'll decide that when we're in Canada."
The Greek PM, Costas Simitis, seated next to Chretien, looked over and
jokingly asked, "You don't smoke?" A stunned Chretien replied, "I don't
smoke, no."
