POT PLAN MAY EXPLAIN STRANGE BEHAVIOUR
Regarding the article, Going to pot (May 28).
MP Roger Gallaway is once again correct in his statement that the new
marijuana legislation likely came from some bureaucrat at Justice Canada.
Kudos to him for standing up for his constituents in Sarnia.
Who was calling for this legislation? Certainly not any real constituency
that is important to the Liberal party. Why the government would promote an
issue that is seen to sanction marijuana use, and further limit the
authority of our local police, is beyond reason.
The PM's interest in sanctioning pot might be a personal issue, however. It
might explain his occasional absence of lucidity with respect to his views
on the Iraq war and our now tarnished relationship with the United States.
