SCHOLARLY EVIDENCE
Well, it is encouraging to hear the mayors have moved to support the
marijuana decriminalization initiative. ("Mayors vote on pot laws,"
June 2.) It is heartening to think the mayors can read the scholarly
evidence, all of which for 60 years and more has recommended
decriminalization of marijuana possession. Of course, I would be even
more gladdened if your story title did not omit the result of the
vote. Would it have not been the norm to refer to the result in the
title? I think so, and I hypothesize the Sun editorial board overall
did not approve of the result.
