SAFE INJECTION SITES DENOUNCED AND SUPPORTED

It is not surprising that a chorus of "experts" committed to "harm
reduction" and safe injection sites should oppose the National Post's
position against such facilities. These experts claim that safe
injection sites are saving lives by providing clean needles and
hygienic surroundings so that addicts can shoot up without health
concerns. Without health concerns? But what about the health concerns
involved with injecting heroin or whatever you bring in off the
street? It seems that what these safe sites are doing is encouraging
addicts to ruin their health even faster.

We need to separate the addict from the drugs. Considering the level
of crime in Vancouver, it seems to me that the harm reduction program
and safe injection sites are a failed experiment. The Post is right in
its stance, and the Conservatives will be right to cancel this
destructive foolishness.
