MARIJUANA JUSTICE.
Re "Medicinal pot's leader receives lenient sentence," June 5: Bravo to
U.S. District Judge Breyer for sentencing medical marijuana activist Ed
Rosenthal to one day, already served, in county jail, instead of the 60
years in federal prison that he could have. And bravo to Rosenthal for
promising to appeal.
Somehow, Breyer managed to see the unreasonableness of sending a man to
prison for aiding his fellow man. What Breyer didn't see, and I believe the
U.S. Supreme Court will someday see, is that the Controlled Substances Act
violates the Ninth and 10th amendments of the Constitution.
