JUDGE SHOULDN'T HAVE DISMISSED CHARGES
To the Editor:
Shame on Warren County General Sessions Judge Larry Ross for undermining
the authority and integrity of the Warren County Sheriff's Department by
dismissing Bonnaroo-related marijuana and speeding charges before trial.
(''Judge questions fairness, dismisses cases,'' June 16)
While news reports refer to the charges as ''minor,'' such editorializing
tends to be viewed through the mirror of one's own experience.
Whether it's jaywalking, drugs or speeding, all laws should be enforced,
whenever and wherever possible, so long as they're on the books. If the
laws are arcane or unjust, change them.
Without rules, anarchy prevails.
