CANNABIS CAMPAIGNER CHALLENGES MP

May I respond to the comments made by Dr Ian Gibson, MP for Norwich North,
and Norwich Coroner William Armstrong. ("Taxpayer's cash is used to help
cannabis party", 20 May)

Dr Gibson, whom I would like to thank for his previous support, both in the
House of Commons and the Evening News, said that "the case for legalising
cannabis was still not strong enough to win over the British public."

Dr Gibson has clearly been convinced by the case, and I hope that the
Evening News will give him space to give us a hand and tell us what
convinced him and why? That may prove more effective than the LCA.

That is if his prohibitionist party leader, Tony Blair, will have more than
zero tolerance for what Dr Gibson has to say on the issue.

May I point out to Mr Armstrong that the Legalise Cannabis Alliance is a
political party and we are not involved in "promotion of illegal cannabis
use" as he claims.

Rather, we question the sense, justice and even the validity of the
inclusion of the cannabis plant in the Misuse of Drugs Act and advocate its
removal.
