THEY MAY OBJECT
If the Bush administration is upset with Canada's plan to ease its marijuana
laws, imagine how religious zealots like U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft
must feel about your Ontario judges legalizing same-sex marriage and then
your justice minister delays challenging the ruling.
If talk of cannabis decriminalization brings the threat of long delays at
the border, don't be surprised for the border to be sealed if the same-sex
marriage ruling stands. This one will be too much for America's ruling
Puritans to handle. After all, it was Mr. Ashcroft who had the nude breasts
of the statue at the U.S. Justice Department in Washington covered.
