HIGHS AND LOWS OF SOUTHIN'S JUDGMENT

The Appeal Court Justice Is Alternately Applauded, Condemned For Pot Views

B.C. Court of Appeal Justice Mary Southin's admission that she has sat on
more than 40 cases which had something to do with marijuana and has come to
the conclusion that it is of no greater danger to society than alcohol is
indeed insightful.

Each of us as citizens have a choice. We can choose to obey the law or not.
Should we choose not to do so, then we should expect to pay whatever price
society deems is the punishment for that particular offence in a democratic
and just society.

Justice Southin has previously exhibited her utter contempt for law by her
failure to follow the non-smoking guidelines of our province. She now goes
on record as stating that she feels an illegal substance is no greater
threat than a legal one.

Well maybe that is the case, I frankly don't know. What I do know is that I
do not need nor want a person such as Justice Southin sitting on a bench
picking and choosing which laws she likes and does not, basing her
decisions on her personal feelings.

It is time to go, Justice Southin. I would never wish you sitting in
judgment on me.
