GIVE US YOUR VIEWS ON DRUGS
THIS week is national Drug Action Week, which means that nationally there
is a focus on drug and alcohol issues in our communities. It is timely to
remind West Australians about the Community Advisory Council (CAC). It was
established in 2002 after the Community Drug Summit in 2001 determined that
an independent body was required to act as a conduit between the community
and government.
In the past year CAC has been involved with gaining feedback on changes to
cannabis legislation, as well as issues surrounding alcohol and its
accessibility by young people.
The council is made up of a diverse, Statewide group of people with
expertise in the area of drugs and alcohol and community experience.
We continue to seek ways to ensure community input on important issues
relating to drugs and alcohol. We invite people to contact CAC through the
Drug and Alcohol Office and give us your feedback on matters of concern to
you or issues you believe the Government needs to be made aware of.
