HEALTH MINISTER WEIGHS UP DRUG TRIAL
The ACT's Health Minister, Simon Corbell, is considering a report which
will influence whether the Government proceeds with a supervised drug
injecting room.
Mr Corbell says there is evidence the Sydney trial has saved lives.
But he wants to consider a survey of local drug users before making a decision.
"The key issue for me to consider is; will drug users in the ACT use the
facility, will they use it if it's just in a central location," he said.
"I have a report now that addresses those issues from perspective of drug
users. I'm consdiering that then I'll be making recommendation to the Cabinet."
