I'D GIVE UP FREEDOM TO STOP GROW-OPS
I have lived in the Surrey/Delta area my whole life. Recently, I
decided to attend a Surrey town meeting about grow-ops in our
neighbourhoods. I learned a lot.
The panel kept discussing privacy and freedom and how the police's
hands are often tied and how grow-ops are using this to their advantage.
In my perspective, as an honest citizen whose worst offence in 33
years has been two speeding tickets, there's no problem losing a bit
of freedom to combat these criminals. Just as I am teaching my
seven-year-old, you must earn your privileges in life.
I have no problem with someone coming in to inspect my home. I have
nothing to hide. I feel that the people who fight these "violations of
privacy" have something to hide.
