WON'T REDUCE CROWDING
Gov. Bob Holden appears to have stabbed all of law enforcement in the back.
("Holden signs bill to reduce prison crowding," 6/28, B-1).
Police risk their lives to stop crime, and Holden turns criminals loose.
OTB (One Term Bob) thinks that turning criminals back to the streets will
reduce prison overcrowding.
Many drug offenders will only return to their old habits when released.
Some will rob, steal, bamboozle and ultimately commit murder to supply
their never-ending habits. If you really want to stop overcrowding, then
make prisons what they really should be -- for punishment.
