OUR DRUGS, YOUR GUNS
Toronto -- I hope that when "top U.S. envoy" Barry Crane asks Canadian
officials how they plan to stave off the feared increase in the number of
people trying to carry their newly decriminalized stash of cannabis across
the border (U.S. Envoy Will Seek Reassurances On Pot Law -- July 8), he
will also be able to reassure us about stepped-up efforts by the U.S.
government to stop the flood of U.S.-made handguns into Canada. The same
page of The Globe that mentioned Mr. Crane's quest also had a story about
Toronto's third shooting this week. In which direction is the really
dangerous cargo travelling?
