CRACK KITS HELP REDUCE DISEASE AMONG ADDICTS

To the Editor,

Re: Distribution of crack kit suprising, May 31.

I'm tired of the 'big brother' approach from our leaders, who take it
into their own accord to appropriate health care in this city.

The mayor can count the days until the next election. His
authoritarian attitudes about what his position in society is compared
to protecting the citizens of this city from disease at any cost are
light years apart.

At 96 cents per kit, this contribution to the downtown residents who
are addicted helps curb the spread of diseases, which helps in more
ways than his governance has during his term of office.

Maybe there should be fewer developments and more focus on the human
capital being wasted. His authorities have wasted enough time
bickering about this social issue, as people are being affected by
drugs and disease.

Our great mayor should be downtown distributing these kits himself to
show people his concern for the growing drug addiction and its
consequences to communities.

Bumper stickers are more important to him than human lives and his
disregard for social safety and social concerns makes me wonder who's
side he is on?

Crack addicts are human too.
