POLICEMEN IN 3 AREAS NEGATIVE FOR DRUG USE

ONE hundred five policemen from three police stations in Negros Occidental
were found negative of illegal drug use, said Provincial Police Director
Vicente Ponteras

The policemen were from La Carlota City (49); Talisay City (33); and
Hinigaran town (23).

Ponteras said an estimated 500 police personnel all over the province have
undergone the drug test.

They all tested negative, said Ponteras.

On the other hand, six local government units (LGUs) have given financial
assistance to augment the drug testing expenses of the Negros Occidental
Provincial Police Office (Noppo).

These were the cities of San Carlos, Kabankalan, La Carlota, and Talisay,
and the towns of Pontevedra, and Hinigaran.

Ponteras disclosed that Noppo's drug testing expenses have reached more
than P100,000.
