2 DAUPHIN MEN CHARGED WITH POT POSSESSION
Marc Emery, the self-proclaimed Prince of Pot, didn't smoke any grass in
Dauphin yesterday, but others did.
And they got arrested for it.
Dauphin RCMP confirmed two men face possession charges after smoking
marijuana in front of the Parkland detachment. In all, about 50 people
attended the staged event to show their support for the decriminalization
of marijuana.
Emery, a British Columbia marijuana activist, was scheduled to be there,
but couldn't make it.
He was arrested Wednesday for smoking pot outside the Public Safety
Building and spent the night at the Winnipeg Remand Centre before making
bail late yesterday.
Emery is touring the country and flagrantly smoking marijuana at police
headquarters in what he calls the Great Canadian Smoke-Out.
