MARIJUANA: DAMAGE INCOMPREHENSIBLE
Dear Editor,
If letter writer Frank Sterle's mind is damaged [Letters to the
Editor, June 24, Langley Advance News], how does he know it is from
smoking pot?
For that matter, if he admits to having a "damaged" mind, why should
anyone listen to anything he says anyway?
I know dozens of intelligent, creative, responsible people who have
smoked pot for decades, with no negative consequences. Of course, my
statement is no more valid than Frank's, except that I am willing to
admit that I am talking about a non-statistical, non-scientific sample
based solely on anecdotal information.
However, if you do review the scientific evidence, most studies show
cannabis use is not a great risk for most people, unless they are
predisposed to mental illness.
