AN INSULTING NONSTORY

Re: Top brass drive snazzy seized vehicles, Aug. 5.

During many years of elective and military service, I have
consistently defended the press against charges by police and Marines
that the press is against them. This week I apologize for that. The
nonstory is an insult to the high-ranking police cited for driving
confiscated cars. Congratulations to Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio for her
refusal to bow to the reporter.
