CRIMINALS VS. CHILDREN
Our "education governor" wants to allocate $60 million in economic-
stimulus dollars as emergency cash for the increased prison
population. Did Jeb Bush notice the front-page picture of Boone High
School students herded down a crammed sidewalk on the first day of
school?
Prisons can get emergency aid requested in a special legislative
session while our public schools are bursting at the seams. Florida
universities are capping student enrollment and the Department of
Children & Families is struggling to keep caseworkers.
The governor seems to be more concerned about criminals than our
children. Something is indeed wrong with this picture.
