EXTREMELY PERPLEXING
Wow, talk about two extremes. One believes drug prohibition should be
abolished and the other believes taking away people's children for
marijuana cultivation is done "rightly so." (Canada going to pot,"
Letters, June 7) Does Russell Barth suggest crack, heroin, crystal
meth and PCP be decriminalized? And did the editor take into
consideration this is a troubling precedent? Where do you draw the
line at what constitutes an unfit parent? My own father was an
alcoholic and spanked me on occasion when I got out of hand or did
something dangerous. He was far from perfect by some standards, but
my God, I loved and needed him.
GRANT KELLY
(But he didn't put your safety at risk by forcing you to live in a
grow-op or crack house.)
