A TOKE OF POT NO WORSE THAN A GLASS OF BEER OR WINE
The Editor,
Re: "Thanks, bud, for B.C.'s shame," the Now letters, Aug. 9.
I am so tired of people like Tracy Hanusiak ranting and raving about
marijuana and its ill-effects. Does Hanusiak ever have a glass of wine or a
nice cold beer? If she does then she has no right to criticize those who
indulge in a joint rather then a drink of alcohol.
Alcohol has many far reaching ill-effects both socially and medically. I
have yet to meet anybody who becomes violent and abusive after a few tokes,
but I have seen many people who become violent and abusive when drinking.
If one chooses marijuana over alcohol, what possible difference does it
make to Hanusiak?
