'DRUG BUSTER' HOT LINE NOW AVAILABLE
HONOLULU -- A state "drug buster" hot line has been activated for Hawaii
residents to report suspicious drug activity in their neighborhoods.
The hot line number is (800) 966-6384 -- which also can be dialed (800)
9NO-METH. Residents can also send faxes to the hot line at (808) 586-1371.
The attorney general's office will staff the hot line with a deputy and a
full-time investigator, authorized to bring civil nuisance proceedings in a
circuit court for cases involving drug-related activity.
"I expect that this new program will allow people who feared reprisal from drug
dealers to more freely report criminal behavior in their neighborhoods," said
House Majority Leader Scott Saiki, D-McCully, Moiliili.
