POT REPEAT REJECTION
THE State Government will not support a Liberal Party push for people
to be charged with a criminal offence if they are caught with small
amounts of cannabis more than twice.
The Government is waiting on departmental advice before deciding
whether to tighten the laws in relation to repeat cannabis offenders.
The Govenment's cannabis reform legislation is being debated in the
Upper House.
Eight per cent of people charged with offences were caught using the
drug again.
