RCMP TARGET GROW OPS
Burnaby RCMP's marijuana enforcement team is continuing its mission to
shut down local grow ops.
Officers used a search warrant for a house in the 5500 block of Marine
Drive in the evening of June 5.
They dismantled an operation that had 341 plants and arrested the
32-year-old man who lived in the house.
Police will be recommending charges of production of a controlled
substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of
trafficking and theft of electricity.
In a press release, Cpl. Jane Baptista of the Burnaby RCMP noted the
plants would have made more than 192,000 joints - beyond that needed
for personal consumption.
Anyone who notices strange comings and goings in their neighbourhood
is asked to call the Burnaby RCMP detachment at 604-294-7922 or the
nearest district crime prevention office.
