METH SERIES TELLS SAD STORY
Dear Editor:
Your series on meth production seems to tell a sad story of how the war on
drugs causes more problems than drug use. You state "The chemicals and
fumes that permeate the walls, carpets, plaster, and wood of meth labs, as
well as the surrounding soil, are known to cause cancer, short-term and
permanent brain damage, and immune and respiratory system problems". These
problems are a byproduct of the war on drugs. Legalize drugs and regulate
them and these problems will disappear.
I do not endorse meth use but if you support the war on drugs you must take
responsibility for meth labs and the damage they cause.
