POPPY TRADE
I agree with Rep. Ike Skelton's commentary (Opinion, 8/21). Recent
attacks and killings in Afghanistan show the Taliban are rebuilding.
However, Rep. Skelton made no mention of the growing of opium poppies
in Afghanistan, and the sale of opium, which helps the Taliban.
Osama bin Laden, the Taliban and terrorists who follow their lead will
continue as long as the terrorist drug trade continues.
