WHY SHOULD WE TOLERATE DRUG PROBLEM?

Re: Drug crack down needed in Glenwood area: In response to John
Blackwell's letter to the editor on Sept. 1, we are with you all the way
with the drug problem in the Glenwood park you live in, but the problem
goes further than there. It is all over Princeton. I have called the drug
task force and it for sure helps, but it can't do it alone. It seems that
most people here in this county are scared of the police, I'm sure all of
you know a police officer that deals in drugs but are scared to tell
anyone. Well, I have. It does no good for me to tell if you all don't help.

All of the concerned people should pick up the phone and call the drug task
force and tell them the one in your community that is dealing or supplying
the drugs (I have). It seems that the problem might at least start
dwindling if we get them out of the drug business. Believe me, the problem
can be solved but you have to first go to the supplier (not the pusher).

I'm from McDowell County myself and believe me, the problem didn't come
from there, it was already here. It is every where, trust me. I know. One
of my relatives was killed (get this) in jail.

Although we try, the citizens of this county can't have our hands tied in
this situation. If we take the law into our hands, then we get canned. One
other thing: Drugs are a way of robbing people's houses too. These pushers
get the kids on drugs and the house gets robbed by the occupant, and guess
who gets the blame? That's right the owner, not the pusher, not the supplier.

Well, thanks Mr. Blackwell for your input, but believe me, these people in
these counties love this way of life for they sure put up with it. I'm like
you. I can't afford to move but I'm looking for another place. Seems like
this retirement community is sure going to crack and pot.
