UNPRECEDENTED "ICE" TV BROADCAST TO AIR STATEWIDE

"Ice - Hawaii's Crystal Meth Epidemic" is set to air via a simulcast on nine of
Hawai'i's top TV stations at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The showing is
commercial-free.

The widespread showing of the documentary film by award-winning Hawai'i
filmmaker Edgy Lee is an event usually reserved only for major news stories.

Hawai'i's Public Broadcasting System is to air a 30-minute roundtable
discussion of the documentary immediately after the showing.

A promotion for the film states: "This is the story of ice - What it is, how
and why it got here, how you and I are paying the bill for it, and what we can
do about it. It's a story about people caught in quicksand. You know them or
know someone who does."

Ties with Hawai'i's schools are also part of the broadcast, with educational
materials to be distributed on a Web site and in print.

The non-profit Pacific Arts Foundation, Inc. is sponsoring the broadcast and
seeking contributions to help defray the cost.

Producers Edgy Lee and Jeff Mueller of Filmworks are creating the documentary.
