ALMOST HALF OF INMATES JAILED FOR DRUG CASES
TWO-HUNDRED sixteen or close to one-half of the 498 detainees at the
Bacolod City Bureau of Jail Management and Penology are facing illegal
drug charges.
BJMP personnel disclosed the drug suspects are charged with violation

On the other hand, 39 inmates face murder; homicide - 42; parricide -
two; rape - 29; and acts of lasciviousness - one. Crimes against
property include 64 robberies and 55 theft incidents.
Drug situation
Insp. Jonathan Lorilla, Drug Enforcement Unit head, said the supply of
illegal drugs in Barangay 2, a "seriously affected" village,
particularly in Puroks Kagaykay and Sigay decreased this week compared
to last week.
Lorilla added that he is in favor of 'sealing off' or detailing
policemen in all of Barangay 2's entry and exit points.
He further said the proliferation of illegal drugs in Barangay 22 also
decreased.
This came after one of the drug pushers in the place was arrested.
Drug agents identified the suspect as Glen Descutido, 23, of Purok
Mahigugma-on who was collared along with his companion, Anthony
Labayen, 20, of Villa Celis, Barangay Taculing.
Four villages were categorized as seriously affected barangays,
