McDONALD'S SENTENCE
Your editorial on Darren McDonald completely misses the point. The case
serves to highlight the monumental stupidity of the drug laws and the
immorality of using the coercive power of the state to criminalise personal
behaviour which affects no one but the individual concerned. As McDonald has
harmed no one else, he does not deserve to be harassed by the law.
It is interesting to note that your self-righteous editorial appeared in the
same issue as an article which revealed that the supposed dangers of ecstasy
were grossly exaggerated.
