STATE COPS RILED BY PHOTO OF TROOPER ON PRO-POT SIGN

The plug was pulled on a pro-pot billboard in Westboro yesterday after
state police discovered the picture of a real trooper was being used
to promote the cannabis agenda.

To make matters worse, the billboard's owner, Clear Channel Outdoor,
had put the pot-promoting sign up in place of a public service ad with
the sketch of a serial rapist.

The trooper's picture on the pot billboard had been taken several
years ago for a different promotion and was apparently inadvertently
used in the cannabis ad. The ad's creator, Joseph White of Change the
Climate, said he intended neither to take away the public service ad
nor to use the picture of a real cop. "I said find me a firefighter,
find me a teacher and find me a cop and put their pictures on this
billboard so we can let people know the priorities we should be
spending our taxpayer dollars on," White said. Meanwhile, Westboro
police yesterday said a fingerprint had been found on a knife at the
scene of the Aug. 12 rape. "It's awesome news," said police Chief
Alan Gordon. "This is just one more thing we can use."
