GET TOUGHER
Re: "Grow ops the danger next door," March 5.
I am against drug use and discourage it among my peers, but as the years go
by, it is becoming a way of life.
I would like to see the government harsher on drug users, instead of making
it easier for teenagers to get their hands on drugs. With decriminalization,
if you are caught with a certain amount of marijuana, you will be fined, but
it will not go on your criminal record. If these drugs are going to be more
accessible to teenagers, I think kids should be better educated on the
effects on their bodies. The government and teachers could work together to
spread awareness on this issue, by having more assemblies and speakers to
talk to the teens. These steps need to be taken because at this point,
nobody takes these "minor" drugs seriously.
