DRUGS OVERRUN FRESNO

Drugs are all over Fresno County. Young adults and older adults are
falling victim to drug abuse. I've been here 21/2 years, and I haven't
seen so many drugs in my life. I've learned where some drug houses
are. I've watched, for hours at a time, drug transactions taking place
in broad daylight. I've alerted authorities about these drug houses,
but nothing has been done. I've been told there are too many of them.
So the drug dealers keep on dealing drugs. They think they are
outsmarting the authorities. In turn, drugs are easier to get and
become cheaper by the day.

I lost an older brother to heroin addiction. Our family had to put up
with the mental abuse because of addiction for many years. I feel for
all the innocent families, in Fresno and elsewhere, that have loved
ones addicted to drugs, who go to these drug houses and stay for
hours, days and sometimes weeks at a time.

I ask the authorities to step up and make their presence felt. Let the
addicts and drug dealers know they are there. I ask City Council
members to address the issue. We, the public, deserve better.
