DAGUPAN DRUG PROBLEM EASING UP: DANOLI
CHIEF Insp. Rogelio Danoli, city police intelligence officer, said the
Dagupan City drug problem has already been "easing" up.
Danoli said that even if Sitio Silungan in Barangay Bonuan Binloc tops the
drug watch list, there are only few drug personalities left in Pantal and
Amado-Tapuac due to the relentless campaign against illegal drugs in the areas.
He added that even drug activities in Tondaligan area's Muslim community
have laid low following the arrest of Annaliza, wife of Datu Michael Magin
Bagul. Datu Bagul is the president and spokesperson in the Muslim community.
City police chief Noli G. Tali=F1o also expressed optimism that despite the
arrest of Annaliza, Datu Bagul would still extend his support in the drive
against illegal drugs in their community.
In a related development, Pantal barangay captain Mario "Gary" Rayos
questioned the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency's (PDEA) drug watch list,
which showed that there are more than 20 drug personalities in the barangay
who are not yet neutralized.
Rayos said there are now only eight and not 20 persons in the watch list of
the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Badac).
Rayos contended that several of the drug personalities in the old list
already took their oaths of allegiance, promising to cease their illegal
drug activity.
"The PDEA should update their list," he said.
He disclosed that he would call the eight remaining drug personalities to a
dialogue Wednesday for them to vow that they would also stop their drug
activities.
Rayos expressed optimism that with the eight remaining persons in the Badac
drug watch list taking their oath of allegiance before Tali=F1o and Danoli,
Pantal would already be cleared. FPM
