GIVE SITE A CHANCE
All this talk about injections sites. Why don't we just give them a chance
and reassess after six months or a year?
I'm a recovering crack addict and numerous times I've witnessed people
using puddles in an alley to mix their drugs before injecting. Is this what
we want?
Look around: Vancouver's drug woes are enormous and not going away. Hats
off to those who risk political fall-out for trying something new. For
those who think it gives a green light to drug use, think again. The idea
is to provide clean, sterile facilities for those already heavily addicted.
With our provincial medical costs soaring, this is a prudent move to save
both lives and tax money.
Spend a bit, save a lot.
