MEDICAL MARIJUANA

Dear Sir

With the utmost respect I question your decision to elevate Ian Williams'
letter on medicinal cannabis to 'letter of the week' status. It was a
stunning example of emotive prohibitionist claptrap. Mr Williams and, he
claims, "those like" him - who didn't sign his letter - resort to this sort
of "clouded reasoning" to try to stifle open fact-based discussion based on
reality.

His assertion that cannabis use involves "drawbacks and dangers" is the only
piece of factual information contained in his letter. Those who have
campaigned in support of changing the law have pointed that out for years.
Mr Williams is disagreeing with scientific fact-based research.

I have not read Tom Scott's book because it is anecdotal - not fact-based
and backed up by real research. Similarly, Mr Williams' claim that
"medicinal synthetic cannabinoids are already available" is false. Can he
please provide factual details of this?
