TRAIL OF POT LEADS TO ARRESTS

Police arrested two youths after following a trail of marijuana
through the streets and parks of a Markham subdivision.

The trail led from a Burwell Crescent house York Regional Police say
was used in a marijuana growing operation. Investigating a 4 a.m. call
to the home on Sunday, officers discovered it had been entered.

Plant Debris on Streets

Police used flashlights along the trail of dropped soil and debris
from marijuana plants through several streets, Raybeck Park and the
Raymerville Woodlot.

Police arrested two men, 18 and 19, in the garage of a home and
recovered 60 marijuana plants. No arrests have been made in connection
to the growing operation in the first house, where 100 other plants
were found.

Breaking into a growing operation, which often are affiliated with
organized crime, can be very dangerous, police spokesperson Cons.
Steve Morrell said this week.
