DRUG LAWS PROTECT THE REST OF US
Editor:
I am going to dispute Allen Rendell's version of drug laws being useless in
the September 10 issue.
The laws were enacted to prevent the legal lacing with drugs of soft
drinks, candy, pills (health) and everything else sold by every drummer
that went by.
Coca Cola was one example and it was loaded with cocaine, which was not
considered addictive back then.
Every pill - and there were thousands then - was generally laced with
opiates. (Diet pills and crackers contained tapeworm heads.) Get off my
back with that tear jerker idea that this law was racist. That is "tommyrot."
Check up on the Boxer Rebellion. It was to protect the public from someone
being legally able to feed kids stuff like LSD, angel dust, rohipnal (date
rape pills) and offer some of us dummies protection.
These laws are not perfect, but they are okay. I thank Mr. Harrison (and
the old time Chinese kings) for this line of thought.
